Woman, 86, injured in Northeast Philadelphia house fire

NORTHEAST PHILADELPHIA (WPVI) -- An 86-year-old woman is hospitalized after a house fire in Northeast Philadelphia.

The fire started just before 4:45 p.m. Thursday in the 8300 block of Ditman Street.

Upon arrival, fire crews reported heavy fire showing from a two-story dwelling.

The fire was brought under control at 5:09 p.m., officials say.

The victim was taken to Aria-Torresdale Hospital, and then transferred to Temple University Hospital in critical condition.

The cause of the fire is under investigation.
