CAMDEN-WYOMING, Del. (WPVI) -- An employee of a pony ride company is accused of inappropriately touching a child, Delaware State Police say.

The suspect is identified as 33-year-old John R. Blackburn of Houston, Kent County.

Police say a 9-year-old girl took part in a pony ride at Fifer Orchards on Allabands Mill Road in Camden-Wyoming on Oct. 29.

After the ride, police say the child told her mother that the man who assisted her on the ride, later identified as Blackburn, inappropriately touched her.

The mother reported the incident to the owner of Angels Gather Here Pony Rides, the company Blackburn worked for, and a representative of Fifer Orchards.

On Friday, Blackburn, who is a registered Tier 3 sex offender, was taken into custody without incident.

He was then charged with unlawful sexual contact of a child by a registered sex offender, and failure to re-register as a sex offender within three days after a change in employment.

He was arraigned and committed to the James T. Vaughn Correctional Institution in default of $106,000 cash bond.

Delaware State Police are continuing their investigation into this incident and more charges are expected.
