Jamie Apody talks to Preston and Steve about Gary Papa Run

BALA CYNWYD (WPVI) -- The 14th annual Gary Papa Run is just ten days away.

Action News sports reporter, Jamie Apody, stopped by the Preston and Steve Show on 93.3 WMMR radio this morning to promote the important event.

Jamie is a co-chair of the annual 5K walk-run, which helps raise money to fight prostate cancer.

Gary died from the disease just days before Father's Day in 2009.

Jamie talked about how this yearly 5k run would make Gary proud.

"This is his lasting legacy and that is what he wanted to come out of all of this - early detection. That would have saved his live, and hopefully saving hundreds of thousands of other men," she said.

Steve Morrison, who is one-half of the Steve and Preston Show, is a prostate cancer survivor himself.

This year's Gary Papa Run is on Father's Day - Sunday, June 19th.
