Hershey's gives college student 6,500 candy bars after Kit-Kat theft goes viral

MANHATTAN, Ks. (WPVI) -- Hershey's filled a college student's car with more than 6,000 candy bars after the story his recent theft of a single Kit-Kat bar from his cup holder went viral.

Kansas State University freshman, Hunter Jobbins, says he was unloading things from his car to dorm room recently, but noticed something was missing when he came back to his car for the next load.

A thief had gone into his car and stolen a Kit-Kat bar from his cup holder, leaving behind Hunter's cell phone and even his wallet.

The culprit did, however, leave a note on a napkin.

"It just said, 'I saw a Kit-Kat in your cup holder. I love them. I didn't take anything else from your car. I'm sorry and hungry. I really got a kick out of that, I thought it was really funny," said Hunter.

Hunter's Tweet including a picture of the napkin apology has been shared and liked hundreds of thousands of times.

The Hershey company wanted to replace Hunter's beloved candy bar, so the chocolate company stuffed more than 6,500 Kit-Kats into his now-famous car for students at Kansas State University to enjoy.

Hunter even happily handed out the sweet treats to his fellow students.
