OCEAN CITY, N.J. (WPVI) -- The clock is ticking and we are just hours away from the end of Labor Day weekend.
There are plenty of folks on the boardwalk and the beach Monday morning not willing to give up on such a beautiful day.
This includes, the Rafferty family of Mickleton, New Jersey who we found tooling down the boards in a Surrey.
Jen Rafferty said, "Trying to get it all in before we head back and try to get everyone in bed for school tonight."
Her son, Mike says, "I didn't really want to go back to school, but then I saw some of my friends and I was like okay, I'll go back."
Neal Rafferty adds, "We were down for the weekend. The weather has been great, we had a great time.
Action News wanted to know how Rafferty felt about it all coming to an end Monday.
He said, "It's the end of the summer. We were lucky to have a great summer and we're looking forward to coming back next summer."
Conditions at the beach are almost perfect today. There's a slight breeze and the sun is shining and the water is warm.
Young Leah McCarry says, "I like the water because I can go on my belly and go swimming in it."
The McCarry family of Downingtown, Pennsylvania has just arrived for a week of fun and they are looking forward to the crowds leaving today.
"It's crazy. You have a 5 foot space where your umbrella sits, that's all you got," said Brian McCarry.
Hopefully, things will improve for the McCarry family.
April McCarry says, "We are just coming down. We love taking advantage of the first week of September. Cheaper rates, no crowds, so we're looking forward to this first family week of vacation."
September is a great time to be down at the shore. There are plenty of people taking a walk or hitting the beach.
It's a great way to wrap of the summer season.
