WEST HOLLYWOOD, Calif. -- The Oscar dress worn by Lupita Nyong'o was stolen from her West Hollywood hotel room, authorities confirmed on Thursday.
The Calvin Klein dress, laced with 6,000 white pearls, has an estimated value of $150,000.
According to investigators, the dress was taken from the actress' room at the London West Hollywood hotel in the 1000 block of N. San Vicente Boulevard Wednesday while she was out on Wednesday.
"Our detectives are in the process of interviewing the employees that may have had access to the room where the dress was stolen from," Lt. Michael White said.
Sheriff's deputies are working with hotel security and looking at surveillance images from the hotel.
"This is a terribly unfortunate situation, and we are working with law enforcement on their investigation," The London West Hollywood said in a statement.
A publicist for Nyong'o had no comment on the incident.
