Former teacher sentenced for sex with student

WEST CHESTER, Pa. (WPVI) -- A former Coatesville High School teacher accused of having sex with a student apologized to his victim before he learned his sentence on Tuesday.

Mark Hostutler pleaded guilty to charges of child endangerment and corruption of minors at the Chester County Courthouse.

The judge ordered him to spend three to 23 months in jail and ruled he must surrender his teaching certificate permanently.

Prosecutors said he gave a student alcohol and then had sex with her four times in 2008, when she was 17-years-old.

The woman gave an impact statement at the hearing.

Prosecutors said she agreed with the sentence.
