Man critical after being struck by car in Mayfair

MAYFAIR (WPVI) -- A man is in critical condition after being struck by a vehicle in Philadelphia's Mayfair section Thursday night.

It happened around 8 p.m. at the intersection of Frankford and Shelmire avenues.

Police say a man, believed to be in his fifties, was struck by a vehicle heading north on Frankford Avenue.

The striking vehicle did stop.

Police are investigating.
