PHILADELPHIA (WPVI) -- Philadelphia's School Reform Commission is being asked to add two Muslim holidays to the school calendar.

The request came from city councilman Curtis Jones, who won unanimous council approval of a resolution calling for Muslim holidays for city workers on Thursday.

Jones says Muslims feel marginalized, and recognizing two holy days would be inclusive.

But officials say adding holidays will require negotiations with city and school unions.
