EAST WINDSOR, N.J. -- New Jersey State Police are investigating a fiery crash on the NJ Turnpike that claimed the life of a 5-year-old-girl early Wednesday morning.

The crash happened 3 a.m. just south of Exit 8 in East Windsor.

Police say the young girl was a passenger in a Honda that was traveling southbound when the vehicle struck a guardrail.

The Honda became disabled halfway in the lane, and a tractor trailer driver stopped just short of the Honda.

However, another tractor trailer collided with both vehicles. The girl was ejected from the car and died at the scene.

The driver of the car suffered non-life threatening injuries.

One tractor trailer driver suffered minor injuries, and the other truck driver was not hurt.
