Body recovered from Delaware River in South Philadelphia

SOUTH PHILADELPHIA (WPVI) -- Philadelphia police are investigating the discovery of a body in the Delaware River Tuesday afternoon.

It was around 12:34 p.m. when the body was spotted in the river near the Walt Whitman Bridge.

The body was recovered and transferred to the Police Marine Unit headquarters.

There is no word yet on an identity or even the sex of the body.

There is also no word on a cause of death.
