Police say a murder-for-hire plot in Ohio ended up taking out the wrong man, who happened to have the same name as the target.
Carl Rosebrook and Chad South are two of the three men who were indicted for the mistaken murder Wednesday.
The hit happened in Geauga County back in 2006.
Investigators say Rosebrook paid South to kill someone named Daniel Ott.
Ott had been a witness against Rosebook's brother, Joseph, who was in jail.
Police say South killed the wrong David Ott.
It took several years to finally make the connection.
A detective from southern Ohio heard about the case and recognized the name.
