Brothers stabbed brothers in Maple Shade, police say

MAPLE SHADE, N.J. (WPVI) -- Two brothers from Maple Shade, New Jersey have been charged with allegedly stabbing two other men, who are also brothers.

Franklin Sandoval Avila, 22, and Marco Veletanga Sandoval, 18, both of the Fox Meadow apartment complex in Maple Shade, were charged with Attempted Murder, Aggravated Assault and Possession of a Weapon for an Unlawful Purpose, according to the Burlington County Prosecutor's Office.

The stabbing happened around 2 a.m. Sunday inside the unit owned by the victims, who are also brothers.

Those victims were identified as Daniel Tapia, 31, who was listed in stable condition with stab wounds to his face, neck and abdomen and Pedro Tapia, 27, who was treated and released for a stab wound to his abdomen.

Both suspects were treated at the hospital for cuts to the hands.

Police are still investigating a possible motive for the stabbing.

Bail was set at $250,000 for both men.
