Homes evacuated after gas main break in North Philadelphia

NORTH PHILADELPHIA (WPVI) -- Several homes were evacuated because of a gas main break in North Philadelphia.

It happened around 8000 block of West Birch Street.

Initially three homes were evacuated but further assessment resulted in the evacuation of six more homes.

A SEPTA bus was brought in to house evacuated residents.

Fortunately no one was injured.

No word what caused the main break.
