Being obese could affect a person's taste buds, according to scientists at Binghamton University.

In a recent study, scientists analyzed the brain's response in severely overweight rats after they were exposed to different tastes.

They found that the part of the brain involved with taste "lit up" less in the obese animals than in the leaner rats.

The scientists at Binghamton said that taste perceptions may lead to overeating.
