PLYMOUTH, Minn. -- It was a close call for an owl after getting hit by a car in Minnesota. Fortunately, the owl managed to survive.
Kenneth Love says he struck the owl around 3 a.m. as he drove northbound on Highway 169 last week. He says it happened so fast, he barely saw it coming.
With the owl struck in the grille, he drove off the highway to a friend's house and called police.
Love tried to free the owl, but says it tried to bite him. Plymouth police covered the owl with a towel and managed to pull it free.
The owl was transported to the Minnesota Raptor Center to be checked out.
