2 hospitalized after Jeep hits tandem bicycle in Wildwood Crest, N.J.

WILDWOOD CREST, N.J. (WPVI) -- Police are investigating a crash in Wildwood Crest that has sent two bicyclists to the hospital.

It happened Tuesday morning near the intersection of Atlantic Avenue and East Morning Glory Road.

Wildwood Crest Police tell Action News a motorist driving a Jeep Wrangler hit two people who were riding a bike, and that the driver did stop at the scene.

Images from Chopper 6 HD showed a yellow tandem bicycle lying on its side.

A number of police units were on the scene and the street was blocked off with yellow caution tape.

Action News is told both victims were flown to an area hospital.

There was no immediate word on their conditions.
