GREENWICH TWP., Pa. (WPVI) -- A tractor-trailer crash that shut down I-78 in Greenwich Township, Berks County for hours early Friday has been cleared.

The accident happened in the pre-dawn hours Friday in the westbound lanes.

The driver was taken to an area hospital. There was no immediate word on that person's condition.

According to WFMZ-TV the crash completely shut down I-78 West between Route 863 and 737 until 6 a.m., when traffic began getting by the scene.

The wreckage wasn't completely cleared until 7:40 a.m.
