Rabid groundhog attacks neighborhood in New Hampshire

A rodent on a rampage was the culprit behind a New Hampshire neighborhood attack.

Police say the rabid groundhog ditched his normal snack of backyard weeds and went after Gary McGrath instead.

The homeowner said he barely outran the woodchuck as it chased him from his shed to his house.

He was able to snap some pictures as the animal tried to claw its way through a glass door.

"I am very fortunate when he first came up to me he didn't grab me. I'm glad I saw him," McGrath said.

McGrath later learned the rodent had chased the neighbor's sheepdog earlier in the day.

He called animal control and they took care of it.

Fortunately no one was hurt.
