PHILADELPHIA (WPVI) -- A new candidate has thrown her hat in the ring for Philadelphia City Council and a familiar face is one of her biggest supporters.
Jenne Ayers chose her 26th birthday to announce her run for an at-large seat as a Democrat.
Her father, retired fire commissioner Lloyd Ayers, was there for Tuesday's rally outside the Free Library.
The younger Ayers is a Harvard alumna and is set to earn her law degree from Yale this May.
