HOLMESBURG (WPVI) -- Police are investigating an explosion at a Holmesburg auto shop Tuesday.



It happened around 6:10 p.m., on the 3600 block of Rhawn Street.



Police and fire crews responded to reports of an explosion at Shums Auto Repair.



Authorities said information gathered after they arrived at the scene led them to the 9200 block of State Road, where they took a man into custody.



Officials said whatever item was detonated was tossed onto the roof of the repair shop. The building did not sustain any obvious damage.



Members of the bomb squad and the fire marshal's office responded to the scene.



No injuries were reported.
