Final farewell for longtime pastor in Center City

PHILADELPHIA (WPVI) -- Several people said their final farewell Wednesday to a longtime South Philadelphia pastor.

Bishop Louis DeSimone passed away last Friday at the age of 96.

From 1976 to 2001, he served as pastor of St. Monica Parish in South Philadelphia.

He was also a veteran of World War 2.

DeSimone's funeral mass was held at the Cathedral Basilica of Saints Peter and Paul.
