Flight school plane flips after crash at Northeast Philadelphia Airport

PHILADELPHIA (WPVI) -- One person was injured after a plane belonging to a flight school crashed at the Northeast Philadelphia Airport.

Investigators say the Cessna plane crashed and overturned on the runway near the 9800 block of Ashton Road at approximately 11 a.m. Thursday.

First responders took one person to the hospital as a result.

There is no word yet on their condition.

Action News also learned the plan belongs to the Tailwinds Flight School.

Officials have not stated what caused this crash.
