PHILADELPHIA (WPVI) -- The Philadelphia Police Department says it has not received any credible threats in light of the attacks in Paris on Friday night.

Those attacks in and around the French city have left dozens of people dead.

In a statement, department spokesperson Tanya Little said "we have alerted our officers to make extra checks on historical sites, religious institutions, social establishments and any other locations that we feel could potentially be a target."

"As always, we want our officers and the public to be extra vigilant and we want the public to notify us if they see any suspicious activity occurring in our city."

Little said the department will increase its presence at sporting events this weekend, "just to ensure that we are visible to all and ensuring safety."

Meanwhile, Gov. Tom Wolf said in a statement that there were no "credible or increased threats" to Pennsylvanians.
