WEST PHILADELPHIA (WPVI) -- Two police officers were injured Thursday night in a head-on collision with a Cadillac in West Philadelphia.
The crash happened around 9:50 p.m. at 59th and Master.
Police said fellow officers attempted to execute a routine traffic stop for tinted windows at 58th and Master when the vehicle took off.
"When the vehicle got one block away to 59th and Master it struck a Chevy Tahoe SUV, two-person police vehicle that just happened to be going north on 59th Street at Master," said Chief Inspector Scott Small.
The crash caused damaged to a row home occupied by two sisters, 60 and 61 years old, when a traffic light was ripped off the corner and sent flying into the women's front steps.
Neither woman in the home was injured.
The driver and a female passenger suffered minor injuries.
Both officers were taken to Penn Presbyterian Medical Center for treatment of cuts and bruises to the face.
Police say they do not know why the driver tried to flee officers, but they did find marijuana in the front seat.
