PHILADELPHIA (WPVI) -- The new baby girl gorilla at the Philadelphia zoo now has a name.

"Amani" was chosen in an online contest.

The name honors an orphaned gorilla at the Gorilla Rehabilitation and Conservation Education Center, located in the Democratic Republic of Congo.

The contest raised money for the Gorilla Rehabilitation and Conservation Education Center. Voters were asked to donate $1 per vote and Philadelphia Zoo matched donations dollar for dollar.

At the end of the contest donated $6,600 was donated, and with the zoo's match the total donation amount to $13,200!

The Philadelphia Zoo invites you to come and say hello to Amani and her parents at the PECO primate reserve.
