Police cruiser chasing suspected carjacker crashes

MANTUA (WPVI) -- A police cruiser chasing a suspected carjacker in the Mantua section of Philadelphia crashed into another vehicle.

The crash occurred around 5:30 p.m. Wednesday at 39th Street and Haverford Avenue.

The suspect was able to flee the scene in what is believed to be a white Ford Taurus with a paper license plate.

The officer in the cruiser is believed to have non-life-threatening injuries.

No other injuries have been reported.
