9-year-old boy injured in house fire in Philadelphia's Olney section

PHILADELPHIA (WPVI) -- Heavy fire tore through a home in Philadelphia's Olney section early Wednesday morning, injuring a 9-year-old boy.

Flames broke out around 12:45 a.m. in the 5400 block of Palethorp Street, near Tabor Avenue.

The fire on the first floor spread upstairs.

The 9-year-old boy suffered from smoke inhalation.

He was taken to the hospital, where he is in stable condition.

There's no word yet on what sparked the fire.
