Man arrested after woman stabbed multiple times in Allentown, Pa.

ALLENTOWN, Pa. (WPVI) -- A Lehigh County man is in custody, accused of stabbing a woman in what investigators are calling a domestic-related incident.

Officers were called to the 700 block of Saint John Street in Allentown around 2:30 p.m. on Monday.

Police say Amir Whitehurst, 43, allegedly stabbed a 49-year-old woman multiple times.

She was taken to the hospital in critical, but stable condition.

Her identity has not been released.

Whitehurst faces multiple charges, including attempted homicide and aggravated assault.

The investigation remains ongoing.
