Phillies fans reunite with UK family they met at London Series
PHILADELPHIA, Pennsylvania (WPVI) -- "We are now lifelong friends for sure."
The Brill family was planning a trip to Scotland when they heard the Phillies would play the Mets in the 2024 London Series. So, they extended their trip to attend.
By chance, they sat next to the Davies family, who traveled to London from their hometown in South Wales to experience American baseball.
Lee Davies had just come off a cancer diagnosis, but was determined to push through treatment and make it to the games.
The two families from across the world began chatting over their shared love of baseball. They took a photo together and shared contact information.
They exchanged emails over the following years, and ultimately inspired the Davies' decision to visit Philadelphia.
The Brill family welcomed them with open arms, taking them on a tour across the city and a Phillies game.
