Starting Wednesday Center City is celebrating fall with the fashion event of the year.

It's called the Philadelphia Collection, and to toast its 5th year, for a full week dozens of local retailers are offering exclusive deals.

Desiree Peterkin-Bell, Exec. Producer of the Philadelphia Collection, tells us, "We are very excited! We want people to know that Philadelphia is a fashion place to be."

From today through next Thursday, the city is hosting more than 45 events for seven full days of fashion.

From trunk shows to runway shows, and all kinds of style soirees.

As part of the Philadelphia Collection you can shop where you haven't shopped and get a discount all throughout center city.

The goal of the event is to encourage locals to shop locally.

"The whole purpose of establishing the Philadelphia Collection five years ago was to establish Philadelphia as a fashion destination and highlight the diverse fashion economy we have here," Peterkin-Bell said.

South Moon Under on Chestnut Street is just one store hosting a big savings event.

September 23 is going to be a party for some of the ladies - 20 percent off selected materials.
