SEA ISLE CITY, N.J. -- A viewer sent Action News video of some swimmers at the Jersey Shore who caught a small shark in shallow water near the shoreline.

Brad Stokhamer and Pat Muston caught the baby shark in Sea Isle City on Saturday.

Stokhamer and Muston brought them onto the beach where onlookers got to see them up-close.

No one was injured.

"It's fun. I'm glad they enjoyed it. I'm glad the kids got a chance to touch the sharks and everything. It's a great time and it's a great way to celebrate the Fourth of July," said Muston.

After snapping a few photos, they put the sharks back in the ocean.

Muston says he's caught three sharks over the last few days.

Meanwhile there have been more than 20 shark attacks this year mostly off the Carolina coast.

Typically, there are between 30 and 40 reported shark attacks annually off the US coastlines.
