EXTON, Pa. (WPVI) -- A middle school in Exton, Chester County is now the focus of a sexting investigation.
Collegium Charter School contacted police about the alleged misconduct.
The school didn't release any information about the nature of the incident, but did release a statement encouraging parents to discuss cell phone safety with their teens:
Yesterday, Collegium Charter School reported alleged misconduct at our middle school to local law enforcement. We take these matters very seriously and follow procedures that promote safety for all students. As this is an on-going police investigation, we direct questions regarding the incident to the West Whiteland Police Department. Collegium does not want to interfere or impede their investigation, and we also cannot share information that would violate the privacy rights of our students. Collegium has cooperated fully with law enforcement throughout this investigation and will continue to do so. Collegium has provide resources to our families regarding safe cell phone use and discussing cell phone safety with children/teens.
The investigation has been turned over to Pennsylvania State Police.
