ALLENTOWN, Pennsylvania (WPVI) -- Police in Allentown, Pennsylvania, are investigating a shooting incident that injured four people and put a nearby college on lockdown.

It happened around 7 p.m. Tuesday near 18th and West Turner streets.

Neighbors said they heard about eight gunshots and were told by officers to stay inside.

According to District Attorney Gavin P. Holihan, a fistfight sparked a shooting outside of a home on the block. Two groups of people gathered after two men agreed to fight each other.

Authorities say three women and a man were shot. They are all expected to survive.

"We understand that Muhlenberg College was briefly locked down. Our investigation has yielded no connection to Muhlenberg College and no threat to the Muhlenberg College Community," Holihan said.

According to investigators, Axel Yadiel Suarez-Vidal, 22, was armed and shot into a crowd of people gathered outside a home.

Suarez-Vidal surrendered on Wednesday morning and has been charged with four counts of criminal attempted homicide, aggravated assault and reckless endangering.

No additional suspects are being sought, authorities said.

This case is being investigated by the Allentown Police Department and the Lehigh County District Attorney's Office.
