LOGAN (WPVI) -- A 30-year-old man is in critical condition after he was found shot in the city's Logan section.

The shooting happened after 9 p.m. Friday when three plainclothes police officers were parked on the 1100 block of West Clarkson Street.

They say a gold SUV pulled up on the block and officers heard from eight to ten gunshots coming from the vehicle.

Police say the occupants inside the SUV were allegedly shooting at a black Toyota Avalon which was also parked on the block.

Officers say the person inside the Toyota, fired shots back at the gold SUV.

The Toyota then ran into several parked cars before flipping over and landing on its roof on the 1200 block of Tabor Road.

The officers then drove in the same direction and observed an unidentified male running presumably from the Toyota, armed with a gun.

Officers saw a male inside the vehicle suffering from multiple gunshot wounds to his back and buttocks.

He was taken to Einstein Medical Center into surgery.

Police secured the scene which included money and marijuana on the highway that allegedly spilled from the crashed vehicle.

So far, there are no arrests or charges. The incident remains under investigation.
