Man murdered at gas station in Wynnefield

The search continues for a killer on the loose in Wynnefield.

WYNNEFIELD (WPVI) -- Police say a 24-year-old man was murdered at a gas station in the Philadelphia's Wynnefield section late Tuesday night.

The incident happened around 11:45 p.m. at the Gulf gas station located at Wynnefield and Bryn Mawr Avenues.

Three men were standing on the parking lot area talking when a fourth man walked up to them.

Police say an argument broke out and the fourth man opened fired.

One of the men was shot twice in the back and shoulder as he tried to run away.

One of his friends ran into the store and the other friend is missing.

The 23-year-old victim was taken to the hospital of the University of Pennsylvania where he was pronounced dead.

Police are searching for the victim's car. They are not sure if the car was taken by the victim's friend or the shooter. It is described as a white Oldsmobile Bravada.

Police have not released the victim's name as they are still trying to contact his family.
