NORTH PHILADELPHIA (WPVI) -- A would-be robbery victim turned the tables on his aggressor in North Philadelphia.

The incident happened around 5:30 p.m. Friday at Broad Street and Allegheny Avenue.

Police say a 23-year-old male attempted to rob a man when the intended victim shot the suspect three times in the right leg and twice in the left leg.

The would-be robber was taken to Temple University Hospital where he is listed in stable condition.

He is being held as a prisoner, police say.
