Two men are hospitalized, one in critical condition, after both were shot outside a party near Temple University's North Philadelphia campus.

NORTH PHILADELPHIA (WPVI) -- Philadelphia police say two suspects are in custody after a shooting outside a party near Temple University that wounded two men, one critically.

Neither the victims nor the shooters were Temple students, police say.

It happened at 1:30 a.m. Friday in the 2200 block of Park Avenue in North Philadelphia.

"There were at least 100 people inside the house involved in the party when a fight broke out inside," said Philadelphia Police Chief Inspector Scott Small. "The fight spilled onto the street, and that's when shots were fired."

Police say a 19-year-old man was shot three times, once in the abdomen. He is hospitalized in critical condition.

A 23-year-old man was shot once in the arm. Temple University Police took him to an area hospital, where he is listed in stable condition.

Police say when officers first arrived on the scene, they saw a 24-year-old man place a gun down on the sidewalk in front of the home.

After a short struggle, police arrested him. Another person was also taken into custody.

There was no immediate word what sparked the fight. No charges have been filed.
