Sinkhole opens into backyard pool

ISPWICH, Austrailia (WPVI) -- An Australian couple got this backyard pool they never asked for.

A large circular sinkhole appeared yesterday, and continued.

Swallowing up the property as news cameras recorded.

Neighbors woke up Lynn and Ray McKay to alert them of a small hole in their Queensland backyard.

It eventually grew to about 26 feet.

Authorities think the sinkhole is due to an old mine tunnel collapsing.
