NORTH PHILADELPHIA (WPVI) -- A new shopping center is going up in North Philadelphia.
The mayor and other representatives were there for the groundbreaking near third and Allegheny Avenue Tuesday.
The shopping center will house a Save-a-Lot supermarket, an auto-repair shop, medical and dental offices, and a fitness center.
City officials say it should create 140 permanent jobs, and bring an economic boost to the community.
Plaza Allegheny is expected to open this fall.
