Restaurant manager's touching reason for picking up family's $100 bill

WILDWOOD CREST, N.J. (WPVI) -- A small gesture meant the world to one shore-goer, who is now scrambling for a way to keep the chain of kindness going.

Sarah Renee Langley and her family are from Philadelphia and took their mom, Mary, to the shore for the Labor Day weekend.

Mary suffers from advanced stages of Alzheimer's disease, and they planned a nice day out for her.

The day got even more magical when they stopped for a meal at Little Italy restaurant in Wildwood Crest, New Jersey.

The manager of the restaurant, Michael, picked up the family's tab, totaling about $100.

After discovering that her bill was paid, Sarah approached Michael to thank him and ask him why?

She says he showed her his wristband, which reads: "Pay it forward."

He went on to explain that 10 years ago he considered ending his life, but realized he had more to give.

Michael told them he lives to celebrate the caregivers who tirelessly support their loved ones with debilitating illnesses.

Sarah was moved to tears. And now, she says her goal is to find a way to pay THAT forward.
