City to hold Championship Rally for Philadelphia Soul

PHILADELPHIA (WPVI) -- The City of Philadelphia will get a championship celebration this week.

Wednesday at noon the city will hold a celebration rally at the City Hall Courtyard for the Philadelphia Soul, the 2016 Arena Football League World Champions.

The Soul defeated the Arizona Rattlers 56 to 42 last Friday night in ArenaBowl XXIX to claim their second Arena Football League World Championship in 11 seasons.

At the rally, Mayor Jim Kenney will be joined by the Philadelphia Soul ownership group, including former Philadelphia Eagle Ron Jaworski, the Soul coaching staff, players, dance team and front staff.

Championship merchandise will be available for sale.

Food vendors will be on-site for food and beverage purchase.
