PHILADELPHIA (WPVI) -- The energy at the Wells Fargo Center was intense, even hours before the Philadelphia Flyers were set to take the ice.
As Action News reporter Jeff Skversky began his preview of the Flyers' home opener against the Anaheim Ducks, the arena began to light up and dramatic music roared through the speaker system.
The crew was testing out the light show for the first home game of the Flyers' 50th season.
It will be an emotional night as the Flyers will pay tribute to their late owner Ed Snider.
The Flyers will also hang a banner up in the rafters with Snider's name on it.
The season is dedicated to Snider.
The Flyers are asking all fans to be in their seats by 6:50 p.m. for the pregame ceremony.
