SAN DIEGO, Calif. (WPVI) -- A convenience store clerk in Southern California stood up to an armed robber.

Chris Hoover says the robber walked into the 7-11 in San Diego early Monday, and pulled out a gun and demanded money.

Hoover's response was no.

"I told him I'm not taking the money out. You can take whatever you want from the store, but I'm not taking any money out

Hoover says the man started to leave but then demanded the clerk's ID.

Hoover once again said no.

This time, the man took off.
