PHILADELPHIA (WPVI) -- Monday was the first night of summer and many of you wanted to capture the first few moments on camera.
Summer officially started at 6:34 p.m.
Action News viewers sent in photos of the first sunset of the Summer of 2016.
The sunset did not go unnoticed by the Action News team either.
And a timelapse from Sky6 shows what the sunset looked like over Center City.
The sunset took place at 8:33 p.m. and two minutes later the Action Cam captured the summer solstice full moon.
This hasn't happened in decades! And it won't happen again until 2062 (get your cameras ready).
The full moon in June is known as the strawberry moon.
That's not because of the color but because June is when people usually plant strawberries.
