CONNECTICUT (WPVI) -- Here's a story that's asking this big question: Should teachers and students text each other?
A Connecticut school district is considering changing a policy to make it ok.
A student went to the school board to make the case that allowing that kind of communication would create a more efficient learning environment.
The teen says they don't always check their email, and by allowing texts they can more easily ask last-minute questions about assignments.
Current school rules prohibit texting between students and staff.
Some school officials argue that changing the policy would create an "unrealistic expectation" that students can access teachers 24-7.
There's also a question about teachers using their personal cellphones for work.
The ethics committee is currently looking at this.
