Temple security guard hospitalized after North Philadelphia accident

NORTH PHILADELPHIA (WPVI) -- A Temple University security guard is hospitalized after an accident in North Philadelphia.

It happened around 9:05 p.m. Friday near 13th and Berks streets.

Temple officials say the guard was sitting in his personal car near police headquarters when his vehicle was struck.

The driver of the striking vehicle fled the scene, but was located a few blocks away at 11th and Diamond streets.

The guard was rushed to Temple University Hospital for back and neck injuries.

No word on the cause of the crash.
