PILESGROVE, N.J. (WPVI) -- The Salem County Sheriff's Office laid to rest a beloved former member of its ranks Wednesday.
Officers, human and four-legged, lined up to pay tribute to K9 officer Ben, an explosives specialist dog that served in law enforcement for 10 years.
Ben retired from the department in 2013, having responded more than 900 bomb threats statewide.
The dog was laid to rest Wednesday afternoon following this memorial service at Woodstown Veterinary Hospital.
