Man hospitalized after shooting in Tioga-Nicetown

TIOGA-NICETOWN (WPVI) -- Police say a 48-year-old man was shot and rushed to the hospital in Philadelphia's Tioga-Nicetown section.

The incident happened before 1 a.m. Wednesday on the 1700 block of West Juniata Street.

Investigators say they have video showing the victim leaving a corner Chinese take-out restaurant when someone came up and shot him in the stomach.

The suspect then jumped into a nearby car and fled the scene.

Officers rushed the man to Einstein Medical Center. He is listed in critical condition.

So far, there is no word on a motive.
