Temple University Dream Camp

NORTH PHILADELPHIA (WPVI) -- For dozens of children, summer break has been filled with new experiences all thanks to a special camp at Temple.

The Dream Camp has been underway for the past 8 weeks, and Friday was graduation day!

180 campers took classes in performing arts, nutrition, and fitness

The camp serves low-income youth and aims to transform lives through educational programs.

Jasmine Mays started coming to Dream Camp in 5th grade.

She's now a college student at Villanova with a major in Biology.

She became emotional as she talked about how much the camp has meant to her.

Jasmine says the camp fills a real need in these kids lives. "They eat here, they might not eat at home. You come to Dream Camp to escape whats going on at home and this opportunity gave me friends that will last a life time."

They hope more success stories will follow as this latest group of campers graduate.
